Details of Excavations

HS2 is carrying out archaeological investigation in advance of construction and has published details of work taking place near Edgcote.

Three sites have been identified for work; one at Blackgrounds Farm (the site of a possible Roman villa with an extended settlement) and two on the presumed site of Edgcote battlefield, a decisive battle in the Wars of the Roses.

Work will take place between 15th February and August.
