Construction Update – December 2021
The Wetland Top Path was signed off for practical completion today and is therefore officially OPEN to be used!
Here are the first people to use the path after we officially signed it off. The new path offers year round access alongside Byfield Road from the top of the Cinder Path to the top of Kitchen Lane, giving easy access to the school.
We plan a “formal” opening by our MP in the New Year, but the path is now open to be used by parishioners and comments are welcome regarding the new facility.
The project is part of the Council’s 5-year strategy and 10-year management plan for the improvement of the Great Central Woodland’s ex-railway land as a village amenity.
Is it disabled friendly ie; for mobility scooter , please. X
Yes, it should be fine. It was certainly intended to be, although I’ve not seeen any reports from anyone trying it yet. No steps at either end and assuming the scooter can get up the slope, should be OK to get up to Church Street for the Library / Old School Cafe etc (when open again after Xmas) via Kitchen Lane.
